Hello
i have a severe issue with my computer. I cannot access
some websites. i have tried ALL of the fixes on the
internet with no success. i am about to format and
reinstall the os.
i can access most websites, but not others. i cannot get
a ping response from 127.0.0.1 but can ping my router and
surf the net.
Has anyone else come across this?
Using Win XP home, SP1, IE6. Most programs will not
update automatically (like AVG says no connection although
i am on line, Ad Aware says program is uptodate although
it is not, cannot do windows updates, and so on)

Please help!

I have the same problem. Started when I installed SP2. No one seems to
have an answer for this. I have lowered my firewall, disabled norton, and
searched all the restricted files as well as making it a trusted site to no
avail. I just can not get to about a dozen sites that I use to use daily.
My second computer on this same network, 2000 pro, works just fine so it
isn't the network.

Let me know if you resolve this problem.
