Hi,

I would like to request for your guidance for the following problem.

I have a Desktop PC that is able to surf internet through my school LAN
network.

I also have a Laptop and I am using a 1934 (fire wire cable) as a connection
between my Desktop and Laptop.

Now I would like to surf internet at my Laptop PC without affecting the
connection in my Desktop, i.e. surfing internet on both PCs at the same time.

Is it possible? I have tried to play around with the network setup wizard,
setting up a home or small business network,…..an so on, but in vain.

Please help :P

is there a reason you have not purchased a router to do this for this? Then
you can have many computer connected at one time.

A router can't use an IEEE 1394 (FireWire) connection.

To share the Internet over IEEE 1394, enable Internet Connection
Sharing on the Desktop's LAN connection. If it asks what connection
to use for the home network, tell it to use the 1394 connection.
