I am trying to connect a Win95-laptop to the internet using the network and
the XP-SP3 desktop with ICS enabled. Is this possible at all? Does anyone
know?

I assumed that IE on W95 would need a Proxy-IP-address and portnumber, but
where to find the port-number?

Please help! I don't want my kids to use the desktop, but they are allowed
to screw around on the laptop...

P@ul,

Paul,

You can use a Windows XP computer to share internet service using ICS. But SP3?
I don't think that's been published yet.

Here are a few websites with useful tutorials:

http://www.wown.com/

And Paul, please learn to munge your email address properly, to keep yourself a
bit safer when posting to open forums. Protect yourself and the rest of the
internet - read this article.

Yes you can use Win95 to connect to the Internet through ICS.
Configure the Win95 TCP/IP properties to obtain an IP address
automatically -- that's all that's necessary.

ICS isn't a proxy server, so there are no proxy settings.
