Help I cannot connect to my web server by typing in its
url http:\\intranet.abc.com but if I connect to the folder
then it opens up. Also when I go to the intranets main
page and say "open with front page" it opens up the
default page and not my index.html which is my default
page for the web server. Can someone point me in the right
direction?

1. what type of server?

Assuming the web is on a LAN:

When you say "connect to the folder"
are you connecting via file sharing??

What do you mean by default page.
Is it a page named default.htm??
If so, in folder view delete it and you should
then default to index.htm.
( unless the server requires default.htm. If
it does, then default.htm should be your home page
and index.htm should be deleted )

As for connecting via http:// is this a public domain
accessible via the internet??

You are using a subdomain, which is pointed to a subweb, so you have to open
or publish via FP always to the root web/subwebname URL, not the subdomain
URL.

Dang,
I looked at the url and totally missed that it was a subweb.
Off to clean the glasses.
