Connecting a projector causes VGA ouput to no longer work

Hello everyone,

I have an XPe SP2 FP2007 image that has been working very well for
me. However, I came accross an issue having to do with the VGA ouput
on my device. I normally have a VGA monitor hooked up, but after I
plugged in a projector into the VGA port, no output appears.
Subsequently, no more output is seen on any monitor through the VGA
port. I am guessing that the projector is setting some sort of
resolution / refresh rate that my video card or driver have an issue
with. Yet for some reason, the setting sticks. I guess my question is:
What components are needed to be included in TD for functionality with
various monitors? My video adapter has the proper drivers installed
and seems to have no problems. Anyone have any ideas? Thank you all!

Euge

Hi Euge,

1. Does the same situation also happen in XP Pro?
2. Did you try to boot from VGA mode while connected projector?
3. Which VGA driver are you using?

Hi Ethan,
Thank you for your response.
The same situation does not happen in XP Pro, however, my screen
resolution shrinks once it is connected.
I have tried to boot from VGA and have had no luck. I can get all
the way through the Windows XPe loading
screen, but that is when the monitor losses the signal.
I am using the "Intel(R) 82852/82855 GM/GME Graphics Controller"
driver.
I will try to set a different resolution in TD for this device and
see what happens. It was set to
800x600 by default.

Thank you very much!!!

Hi Euge,

It might because the display driver recognize your projector as an LVDS
device. You can try to press <Ctrl>+<Alt>+<F1> which can force the screen
output to VGA port. You can change to Intel IEGD driver and modify it to be
the most suitable driver for your environment.
