Connecting to password-protected printer attached to Windows 2000 computer

I am attempting to access a shared printer attached to my
friend's Windows 2000 Professional computer. It is
password-protected, and I have a username and password to
access it, but I can't. It never prompts for the password
and always says that access is denied. How do I get
Windows XP Home Edition to prompt for my password so I
can print to the printer?
