I RAN THE "NEW CONNECTION WIZZARD" "DIAL-UP CONNECTION" ON BOTH COMPUTERS (IN
THE OFFICE AND AT HOME). BUT ALL I GET IS ERROR 678 "THE REMOTE COMPUTER DID
NOT RESPOND"

First, please don't post in all caps. On Usenet (where you are now
posting) it is considered shouting and rude. More importantly, it makes
your post hard to read and many people won't bother.

You will need to ask your IT people at work for help. They will know
what firewalls are in place and if you are trying to use a VPN, what
ports to open.
