How do you enable a/the credentials logon to reconnect
network drives when the O/S first starts up. Which would
incidently stop the "could not reconnect all network
drives" pop up.

Go to My Computer. Go to the Tools menu and select Map Network Drive.
Enter your share information here- select "Reconnect at logon" and enter
your credentials after clicking the "connect using a different user name"
link.

Hi there ..

On a hunch, this is what I tried ..

1. Clean Boot on XP bo

2. Connected to the network drive through Windows Explorer (was running NT4) ... MAKE SURE that you use the fully qualified machine name\user of the machine you are trying to connect to. eg: you want to connect as Administrator to machine "OFFICE-SVR", connect as OFFICE-SVR\Administrator

3. Then MAP the n/work drive but connect as User OFFICE-SVR\Administrator ... click "Reconnect at Logon"

I then rebotted and the drive connected without prompting for a pwd.

Seems as though qualifying the User Name with the Machine name did the trick

Give it a go

Rgds,

Could be the XP Fast Logon Option. Check out http://support.microsoft.com/default...NoWebContent=1 for more info.
