I have a K7 Triton nForce2 chipset Mobo and I want to connect the front USB
ports (I know it's easy)

I have 8 connectors coming from the front USB cable.

2 power 1 black and 1 purple
2 D2 1 Red D2+ and 1 Brown D2-
2 D3 1 Green D3+ and 1 Blue D3-
2 ground 1 Orange and 1 yellow

In my manual for the Mobo I get the following definitions for the mobo
connection

pin no
1 Power
2 Power
3 USB Dx-
4 USB Dy-
5 USB Dx+
6 USB Dy+
7 GND
8 GND
9 No Pin
10 NC

Am I right that say the D2 Brown (D2-) and the D3 Blue (D3-) are connected
side by side? and then the same for the + connections?

After you find the correct permutation, hold each of the two
four-connector arrays together by super-gluing them to part of a flat
wooden toothpick, in case you have to unplug them sometime.
