Yes, it is possible and it works well with any TWAIN compatible
scanner, which these days, nearly 100% are. You just need a bit of
simple to use, low-cost as as well as free commercial software.

I was so frustrated before, that after finding this I am very happy to
plug this thing.


The company that provides it is Remotescan.

You can find the software by searching for
remote scan

Or you can just go to their web site at
http://www.share-scanner.com

The client version is free, and lets you test out how it works; with
the free client copy you are able to operate a scanner located at
their company location.

There is also a an exchange program where you get the full package for
free if you give a web site link back to http://www.share-scanner.com
