I have an external hard drive. I've been having the problem lately that when
I'm just working on my computer the sounds of when a hardware disconnects or
connects is being heard. First, its the sound you hear if you disconnect a
piece of hardware then you hear the sound if you connected a piece of
hardware to your computer. This is all happening at random times. Is there
anyway I can get this fixed? This tends to happen when I open up the folder
of my EX-HD, but it also does it at other occasions as well

Loose connector or defective cable. See if the sound occurs if you touch or
move the cable back and forth.

I've checked everything. Connections are all connected firmly. Its still
giving me the "autoplay" crap where it scans the files in the EX-HD, then
brings up what you want to do. Like open up your media files in the media
player, and other stuff like that.
