Hi guys;
i have a smart device application in Windows CE 4.2 device, when i
used winXP, i have connected and deploy app from visual stuio by using
activesync connection.

Last week i installed the windows7 on my machine and it didn't
recognize the my device (casio dt-x10), i installed a XP mode (aka
Virtual PC) and installed the driver on XP mode and conected the my
device via activesync (over virtual xp)

But how can i deploy (for debugging) the application with visual stuio
over activesync (running on xp mode)

I don't see why it wouldn't be applicable, but, if you require an
ActiveSync-like connection, I suppose that there is something like Windows
Mobile Device Center from Vista that you would install under Windows 7 to get
that functionality.

thanks paul.
it wouldn't suitable because windows7 didnt't recognize the my device
(when i plug-in the device with usb cable, in device manager shown as
unknown device: driver is not acceptable)
if driver installed perfectly, your solutions would be applicable for
me.
Additionally windows7 mobile device center recognize only windows
mobile devices, have you ever plug-in windows ce 4.2 device to WMDC.

My solutions don't require ActiveSync-like connections at all, so they
should work on any Windows machine at all, provided the target device has
network connectivity. I've only used AS for debugging via non-network
interface. I would hope that WMDC has support for serial connections as AS
did and that you should be able to use one to make the connection, but I
don't know that; networking, however, doesn't care, so is a better solution.
