Hello everyone.
I would like to know if someone was able to share a station's BCM database
with a remote user that connects using a VPN ? any special ports to open on a
firewall ? does it work well when the user is so far from the database ? is
it very slow on the remote user computer ? any alternatives ?

Thanks.

Oren Barshishat.

I was just wondering if you have found any answers to your question yet or
tried it yourself. I have to try and set that up soon.

I am using with VPN. I use two Outlook profiles on the remote PC as
well in case I do not want to use BCM.

A suggestion for Microsoft:

With the upcoming release of a hosted on-demand service for their new CRM 3.0
they should also consider offering a less expensive web-hosted BCM service
whereby remote users could get their data from anywhere in real time with
just their PC client and a browser. (Think Salesforce.com) All of these
ongoing limited BCM synching and sharing hassles would be a thing of the past
with such an easy and affordable centralized data sharing service. Call me
an opportunistic entrepreneur if you will but based upon the number of
continuous problem posts to this newsgroup about this topic, I would suspecty
there to be one heck of a market out there for this type of thing if it were
priced right.

Hey Microsoft, truly be "Dynamic" and try to fill this unmet need.

You might like to sign up for a trial of Office Live and see what it will
have to offer.
