When I browse the internet, I started getting a "connect
to" sign on screen for the adservers on websites. It is
the standard signon screen asking for "User Name"
& "Password", but I don't have one to the ad companies.
I get this for "ad.doubleclick.net",
"global.msads.net", "ad.zedo.net", "servedby.advertising.c
om", "adfarm.mediaplex.com", and others.
I have not changed my security settings. I have run
AdAware & SpyBot & McAfee virusscan-- they show nothing
unusual. I have not loaded new apps.
But it is a PAIN to click "cancel" everytime the web page
changes.
How do I get rid of this?
Thanks for anyone's help since the ad companies won't
help me (they won't even talk to me) and Microsoft has no
email or online support for IE6.
