Congratulations measekite, you have won the battle between you and
alotofthings.com.

Apparently they stopped selling aftermarket ink and started selling
slot machines.

BTW - Ebay is still the cheapest place to get aftermarket ink.

Alotofthings.com announces it has sold TrueColor Imaging Ink Jet
Supplies & Davinci Pigmented Inks.TrueColor Imaging Ink Jet Supplies,
DaVinci Pigmented Inks and all assests of companies were sold to a
Shenzhen, Guangdong Providence, China based ink jet cartridge
manufacturer on Wednesday, December 31st 2008. Included in the sale
were all copyright material under the TrueColor Imaging name, ink
formulations under DaVinci Pigmented Inks and all websites owned by
TrueColor Imaging Ink Jet Supplies and DaVinci Pigmented Inks.
Included in the sale was the rights to "TrueColor Imaging's consumer
guide to inkjet refilling, a 386 page book with DVD video on ink jet
refilling which under Alotofthings.com ownership was expected to be
released sometime in March.
A non-competition agreement which was part of the sale will result in
all TrueColor Imaging inks being out of stock and unavailable at
alotofthings.com beginning January 31st, 2009. At this time it is
unknown whether the new China based owner will continue to use
Sensient Imaging Technologies as their ink source. Also undecided is
whether alotofthings.com will carry the TrueColor Imaging line of ink
jet bulk inks and refill kits after January 31st, 2009.
With current inventory it is expected that alotofthings.com will not
have enough ink to make it through the month of January. If you
require bulk inks or refill kit for your cartridges it is recommended
you get to the site fast.

A lot of new things at Alotofthings.com. As part of the sale
alotofthings.com will turn over multiple websites which sell a variety
of products including of course ink jet refill kits and bulk inks. As
the non ink jet products were not part of the sale we are in the
process of moving these items to alotofthings.com.

It looks like the company that I found unprofessional will still be in
business doing something else.

It also looks like that there is the possibility that one of their
suppliers (unknown) bought them out.

So it appears that the junk will be sold by another vendor and they will
still be in business selling something else.

Actually that is not true. That guys business was down. I'm not sure
was it because there is to much new competition, poor customer
service, or because of the negative stuff written by measekite the
troll. The owner was already streamlining his business to only sell
the stuff that was more profitable. He was smart to sell now, since
business was only going to get worst. One obvious giveaway that
business wasn't the best is the name "alotofthings.com" wasn't even
part of the deal. I guess the name had a bad reputation.

Either way, if you still want aftermarket ink, it's cheaper on ebay.
I'm talking was sell $1.00 ink cartridges shipped. We also sell them
by the gallon if you need. Slot machines are also cheaper on ebay
also.

That's unfortunate. I was pleased enough with MIS to not make a
change, so I never got around to buying formulabs ink. Hopefully the
company taking over the ink segment will keep selling formulabs ink.

While the business wasn't the most profitable, it was worth a buyout
of sorts. That's nothing to sneeze at.

I can understand that based on my experience.

Soon all of the crap ink will disappear as soon as the mfg figure out how
to make printers that are even better than they are now and the crap ink
will produce even worse results than the do now.

It is really simple. They are going out of business as customers realize
that even though OEM ink is overpriced the junkie alternative does not
give them what they want.

If you want formulabs ink call them up. They will sell it to you and you
know it is theirs because of the label on the jug.

measekite wrote: his same old nonsense about "fly-by-night" outfits and

Check out Sensient and Image Specialist ink manufacturers. No fly-by-night
companies - they have been in business for a very long time and make all
types of ink, only one of which is for inkjet printers. Since they are
manufacturers and only ship in large quantities, the small print load end
consumer (like someone with an old ip4000) who wishes to purchase their inks
has to rely on a vendor who purchases from the factory and transfers the ink
to smaller containers for resale. Alotofthings identified their Canon bulk
compatable inks as being Formulab Sensient inks. MIS is listed on the Image
Specialist website as a vendor for their inks. Precision Colors
(http://home.eol.ca/~mikling/ ) identifies the Canon compatable inks they
sell as Image Specialist inks. Precision Colors is permitted, by their
agreement with IS, to identify themselves as a seller of IS inks because
they sell ONLY IS inks, whereas MIS apparently has additional suppliers,
some of which make Epson grey scale inks for black and white printing only.

Compatability issues include, but are not limited to viscosity, ph, drying
times, protection of the printer, and color match accuracy. My experience
with IS inks indicates that using Canon's profiles creates excellent photo
prints that rival the OEM inks. While they may be prone to earlier fading
(not my experience for the five years I've used them) that is an acceptable
problem for me. Prior to the Canon claims that their newer dye-based inks
are more fade resistant, the OEM Canon inks (used in their carts for the
ip4000 among other printers) were found by Willhelm's testing to be the most
fade prone of all the OEM inks at that time.

Moosetripe is still preaching his stuck-on-stupid message, but no one is
buying it.

If I want Image Specialists ink I don't even need to phone them up.
All I need to do is hit their website for their OFFICIAL North
American distributor which happens to be MIS associates. I can buy
the branded bottles by the pint.

By Measekite logic I can't buy "Canon" OEM ink at costco, I have to
ask canon where to buy it. Come to think about it, I can't find CLI-8
ink at Costco, if I want OEM I have to visit Office Depot.

That is not a brand. I call them up and would not disclose them mfg.

Never said that. You are either mistaken or stupid or both.

That is incorrect. While Costco does not sell CLI-8 you do NOT have to go
to Office Depot to buy OEM ink. You can go to Staples, Office Max, Best
Buy or order online.
