i have a amd sempron processor 2800+ with vista, now the question is what would be the best value for money because there is that many out there and i dont have a clue which 1 to buy !

i have a program called revit structure, i use it for work and it is a program that lets me draft (draw) in 3d, now that tells me on the specifications below:

System Requirements

  • 3 GB RAM. (1 GB RAM if no rendering is required.)
  • 1,280 x 1,024 monitor and display adapter capable of 24-bit color
  • 3 GB free disk space
  • Microsoft Mouse-compliant
  • Internet Explorer® 6.0 or later
  • Download and Installation from DVD
System Recommendations
  • Intel Core 2 Duo 2.40 GHz or equivalent AMD Athlon processor
  • Windows XP Professional SP2 or later, Windows XP Professional x64 Edition
  • 4 GB RAM
  • 5 GB free disk space. Dedicated video card with hardware support for OpenGL spec 1.3 or later
  • Internet Explorer 6.0 or later
  • 1,280 x 1,024 monitor and display adapter capable of 24-bit color
  • Dedicated video card with hardware support for OpenGL spec 1.3 or later
  • 5 GB free disk space
  • Microsoft Mouse-compliant
so does anybody have any clue or idea on which 1 to go for ?

I'd recommend a £50 style Radeon or GeForce.... it'd do the job.
However bewarned.... your Sempron will slow it down (Sempron = Athlon - cache)

It would also help if we knew what Motherboard you have fitted in your system simply because the specifications are different for PCI-E and PCI-e 2.0

Your Running Vista so I would think its one ot those two and definately not AGP?!?!

Well if Wiz recommends a £50 Graphics Card that is PCI-E and you get it, try to put it in your Motherboard and then you find out that your Motherboard supports AGP then you have kinda wasted £50!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (see i can use them as well)

If you run those programs, Or take the side off of your case and have a look at the Motherboard, the manufacterer and model will be on it.

Then tell us the model of the Motherboard you have then we can recommend a card that will work.

It will take you 2 minutes
