Confused by GetHostName via Activesync

Hi there,

I'm sorry to ask yet another question about activesync connectivity but I
have confused myself trying to solve what should be quite a basic problem.

I can determine whether the device is connected by querying the result of
dns.gethostname("PPP_Peer"). No problems there but I am having trouble
finding the actual HostName of the desktop pc the device is cradled with. I
really need to find the hostname so I can build a connection string to MSDE
on the desktop. The host pc can be any of a number of pc's so I want the
units to be able to determine which one they are sync'd with.

Where should I be looking to get this information?

Cheers

C-Ya Aly

I can see that the hostnames for the two activesync partnerships are stored
in P1 and P2, but unfortunately our units will be connecting as Guest in AS
not as a preset partnership. Do you know if the hostname for a Guest
connection is stored anywhere?

Cheers
