Ever since I installed McAfee Firewall on my XP machine,
I get the following error message when I boot up: "NT On-
Access Service has encountered a problem and needs to
shut down..."

Can anyone tell me what "NT On-Access Service" is and how
I can disable it (or whether I should) so it doesn't
crash on boot up?

Thanks,
Carl C.

Carl did you ever discover what this was? I have the same issue but did not see any replys to your post.
