Conflicting meeting request

In previous outlook calendars, when you set a room as a resource and set it
to auto reply to requests, if the time is already booked, you get a pop up
message stating "...room is already booked for the specified time. You must
use another time or find another resource."

It then takes you back to the unsent meeting request for you to modify.

In Outlook and Exchange 2007, I created a room with autoaccept. If there is
a conflict in the schedule, I would get a declined message, but then the
other users still get the meeting request. Shouldn't I get a pop up message
stating the conflict and the request stay unsent so I can modify the request?
How do I get this option back?

I don't want the users to get meeting requests when the room isn't available.

You need to do a few extra steps to the room profile so you get the
conflicting notice without sending the email.

1. Open the room profile in Outlook
2. Go to Tools | Options and Calendar Option
3. Click on Resource Scheduling button
4. Check the boxes “Automatically accept meeting requests…” and
“Automatically decline conflicting meeting requests

this will get your the pop up message of conflicting meeting and keep the
message unsent.
