conflict with MBAM and AVG

there is a major conflict with Malwarebytes and AVG Internet Security only
AVG thinks MBAM is a threat and has removed it from add/remove programs and
doesn't allow you to redownload it to reinstall it either

I saw this on my computer and 6 clients that are running AVG Internet
Security
I emailed tech support at AVG and they are working on a fix
I went to mbam's forum and explained what happened and they told me to do
this fix so I am passing it on to anyone here that has both programs
AGAIN it is only doing this in AVG Internet Security
It is not doing it (so far anyway) in AVG Free and AVG Pro- I tested it on
my other machines that are running both AVG Programs

You first need to report it to AVG, then add these files to the exclusion
list:
Right-click the AVG icon in the system tray.
On the shortcut menu select Launch Control Center.
Click the 'Tools' tab, select Advanced settings...'
Scroll down or select 'Exceptions'
Click 'Add List' and copy and paste the following list of

files:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application
Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\rules.ref
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\mbam.sys
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\mbamswissarmy.sys
C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.exe
C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamgui.exe
C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application
Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam-setup.exe
Click OK 3 times.
Reboot your PC.

This fix does work because I did this on 6 computers with no problems but
avg still needs to fix it so it doesn't happen again

I put this here so if anyone else has a problem and do not go to
malwarebytes forum they would know what to do
If you go to the malwarebytes forum you will see all my posts in there
I am via email working with AVg to correct it
We are here still an information software newgroup not just for WD

Windows Defender News may have depreciated to somewhat of a chat room.
Many MS NG's have become that way. That's fine by me, but at least post your
OT Topics OT ! I will since I like to visit here as much as you do but hesitate when
a thread degenerates to something completely off topic from the original OT Thread.

Then perhaps you might also remind the folks who persistently post
"news" about their various anti-spyware products in this newsgroup.

Randy,

At least this time you are RIGHT

I was losing all hope

Look around, a see how many helpers, stay a way from Windows Defender NG's,
look the others 6 newsgroup, how many posters in this group seldom offer any
help, even Jack Ass show once in a while offering the correct help. ;-)

Some people are abusing Bill generosity, it is sad to use this newsgroup
only to feed there ego

Where is Mr Cat, Plun, Dave M, Tom Emmelot and many more, etc etc

this one is an announcement one only
those who need help go to the general one related to WD
since it is boring in here just posting updates to WD we all have made post
in here including you Randy, about Spyware Search and Destroy updates,
spywareblaster, superantispyware, even other antivirus programs and other
antispyware programs as well as Microsoft updates and microsoft's new
antivirus program. We never questioned any of those updates so why do it
now.
this newsgroup is still about spyware announcements, why does it matter
which ones and if it can help others in here, I think that is a plus not a
minus

From now _forward_ unless *my* posts are WD Related, the will have [OT] Off Topic Clearly Marked,
in the Subject Line.

End of topic for me.

Absolutely invaluable information! Robin, your posting this here has given
me the opportunity of NOT updating mbam, and thereby not having to get
involved with this at all until AVG have sorted it out. Thank you.

(Not sure what the grumbles are about - folks have always posted this sort
of information here, and very helpful it is too.)
