While I'm trying to download my hotmail using Outlook I am repeatedly asked
to confirm my Hotmail username and password. Over and over again. Does anyone
recognise this problem?

For what version of Outlook?
Do you have a paid subscription?
Does is work correctly once you've provided the password?

Outlook 7
free Hotmail
Usually works eventually but I often have to confirm many times.

There is no Outlook 7. If you mean Windows Mail you are in the wrong
newsgroup; use windows.vista.mail instead.

Note that Hotmail requires a paid subscription to allow to be connected to
from within a mial client.

My mistake, I meant Outlook 2007.
I'm afraid I don't understand the point about payment. I assume that Outlook
2007 is not a 'mail client' as I can connect to Hotmail from within it, and
so far I have not made any payments to Hotmail.

Outlook is a mail client and if you can connect to Hotmail without payment
you are one of the happy few :-)

The password prompts could be a result from that but if you are using a
virus scanner that integrates with Outlook disable this integration and try
again; it might help creating a more stable connection.

Roady, or anyone,

I'm curious to know how I'm able to access my free Hotmail in Outlook if it
is not normally possible. Especially as I would like to start synchronsiing
my smartphone (where I consult my Hotmail NOT through Outlook) with my PC
(wher I consult my Hotmail using Outlook).

Secondly, I have recently noticed that some emails sent to me by other
people simply do not arrive. Could this possibly be caused by my unusual
Hotmail/Outlook combo?
