I see that this question has been answered different ways on the discussion
group but none of the solutions have helped me. So here goes the question
again...On every page of a new site I did there is a spot to put in your
email to join a news e-mailling.

On all other pages, it is set to go to the owner of the site's email but at:
http://www.chikimusic.com/thankyou/index.htm it is set to mine for testing
purposes. On all the other pages, the email form works and the viewer gets
the standard FrontPage message that it has been delivered properly. When I
go test putting on a confirmation page (on ...thankyou/index.htm) saying
thank you from the owner of the site, I get

FrontPage Error.
User: please report details to this site's webmaster.
Webmaster: please see the server's system log for more details.

Even though the viewer sees this error, their email is still delivered. If
I get rid of the confirm. page then it goes back to the standard FrontPage
thank you - I would like to have the thank you page customed to look like the
site.

Why is it that when I attach a confirm. page, all of sudden the form doesn't
work and the viewer sees an error message??
Thank you!!

a "real" confirmation page won't have an address like that.
the FrontPage extensions will make a copy of that page and use it to display
custom confirmation fields.

Have you seen ContentSeed (www.contentseed.com)?
NOTE:
This message was posted from an unmonitored email account.
This is an unfortunate necessity due to high volumes of spam sent to email
addresses in public newsgroups.
Sorry for any inconvenience.

Try taking that email signup thingy off the thank you page.

FrontPage does not respond well to a form being present in the thank you
page of another form.

Thank you for your response but I am not sure what you mean by a "real"
confirmation page or an address like that. Can you further explain?

*****************************
My code states:
<form method="POST" name="inquiry from website"
action="../_vti_bin/shtml.exe/shows/index.htm"
webbot-action="--WEBBOT-SELF--">
<!--webbot bot="SaveResults" U-File="../_private/form_results.csv"
S-Format="TEXT/CSV" S-Label-Fields="TRUE"
S-Email-Address="(E-Mail Removed)" S-Email-Format="TEXT/PRE" startspan
B-Reverse-Chronology="FALSE" B-Email-Label-Fields="TRUE"
B-Email-Subject-From-Field="FALSE" S-Email-Subject="Inquiry from Chiki's
Website" S-Builtin-Fields U-Confirmation-Url="../thankyou/index.htm"
--><input TYPE="hidden" NAME="VTI-GROUP" VALUE="0"><!--webbot
bot="SaveResults" endspan i-checksum="43374" -->
<p align="center">
<input type="text" name="Email" size="20" value="Enter Email Address"><input
type="submit" value="Submit" name="B1"></p>
</form>
**************************************
If the code states: {Confirmation-Url="../thankyou/index.htm"} then why is
not getting redirected to that page???

Thank you again for your help!

sure, the way a confirmation page works within FrontPage is that it copies
the page you make, but feeds the user a different page (from a different
address).
another poster said to take the form out of your confirmation page. that's
a very good suggestion.

I can't believe that was the problem - having the form field on the thank you
page. That was the missing link - I can't thank you all enough!!
