It is ridiculous to have to keep typing in the password and confirming every
post to this board. MS should be able to program so that once logged in it
doesn't ask for repeat logins.

What password log in and confirmation to news.microsoft.com or to
msnews.microsoft.com? Are you sure that it is not the ISP that is
presenting the problems as it appears that you are getting in via
a website instead of through an e-mail/news application.

I don't logon here, nor enter my user name or password. As those fields
are blank and it doesn't ask me for them ever.

This is not a board. It's a Usenet newsgroup. There is no password
required if you access them using a newsreader and through the microsoft
news server at msnews.microsoft.com
