Configuring a URL shortcut

Netscape is the default browser on my machine. But a customer requires that
a run a java app provided by his company, and that app will only run with
IE5 or IE6 (I have 6). After installing his java app, I'm left with a
shortcut on the desktop. The shortcut simply points to a URL.

When I click the shortcut, it opens Netscape. I need it to open IE. So, I
created a shortcut with the full path to IEEXPLORE.EXE, followed by the URL,
like this:

"c:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\ieexplore.exe
https://something.com/security/logonssl.asp"

It doesn't work. Is it because of the space between the IE program and the
URL? Should something else be there, or is this impossible to do?

Doug,
It appears that you shortcut URL that you posted is incorrect.
It should be "iexplore.exe" not "ieexplore" Notice the second "E" in
yours.. Good luck,

I caught the same error.

If that doesn't fix it, try encoding the space (i.e., substituting: %20).

The extra "e" was a typo in this message, as I copied it from the 2nd
computer on the desk. It was not in the actual URL used in my evil
experiments.
