Configuring IP based printers (remotely)

Hi. Our Win XP PCs print to the IP [address] port of our network printers,
but in order to create a new port locally and add a printer, the user
requires admin rights [which most don't have]. Therefore we have to log them
out and then we log in.

Is there such thing as a MSC applet for printers? This way I can either go
in remotely (as most MSC applets allow) or at the PC changing the MMC
authority to the local admin.

Someone mentioned printmanagement.msc but I suspect that's for Vista.

Thanks

If you right click on the "Add Printer" icon (you will need to be using
windows classic folders view) and choose the "Run As..." option you should be
able to add the printer port as if you were logged in as an admin. That's the
way i get around the issue your having.

Ah! That's how I missed it....

BTW, I read somewhere that with Windows 7, they're removing the "Add
Printer" icon.
