Configuring gmail account to send emails properly in Outlook

Can anyone please help me? I am having a heck of a time getting my gmail
account to properly configure in my Outlook 2003. I have run through the set
up many many times and I have the right info entered for the POP3 and SMTP
incoming/outgoing servers. I can receive with no problem, and I can often
send OK, but every few days my emails just get stuck and won't send. The
error message says:

I have configured other email addresses to come through Outlook without this
kind of trouble. THANK YOU in advance for whatever help you can give me!!!
