Carey ... Thanks for your response ... I do have a conventional telephone line
attached to the computer from a phone jack, but the fax program is not receiving
a dial tone. I was told by Atlantic Broadband (who is my telephone provider)
that the fax program has to be set to send as DATA. Is there a way i can set
this information in the fax program that is installed in Windows XP? I was told
I can set this option in WinFax but I don't send enough faxes to warrant
purchasing a new fax program.
I wonder if I've been given incorrect information by Atlantic Broadband. They
claim that I should still be able to send a fax with their service.
