I am desperate need of some explanations and assistance for the following:

I have a home network of 4 Servers & 3 client PC’s & am trying to set up a
testing lab to learn, but am getting a little confused. Here is a brief
description of the servers that I need assistance with.

1. Server Name is ATLANTIS and is running Windows 2003 server it is running
the following services.
• Active Directory (Domain name “pharoahs.local”)
• DNS running a Forward lookup zone “pharaohs.local”

This server is configured with one NIC using a class C 192.168.105.1

2. Second Server Name is RIVENDELL and is running Windows 2000 Adv server it
is running the following services.
• Exchange Server 2000
• ISA Server 2000

This server is configured with 2 NICS one internal class C 192.168.105.50,
the other a external IP XX.XXX.XXX.XX.

3. The third Server Name is OLYMPUS and is running Windows 2000 Adv server
it is running the following services.
• Secondary DNS for “pharaohs.local”
• IIS for Website & FTP usage

This server is configured with 2 NICS one internal class C 192.168.105.3,
the other a external IP XX.XXX.XXX.XX.

Now what I actually want to do is set up multiple domains for Websites,
Email etc.
For example:

Register domain name “pharoahstomb.com” make a website and have it on my
OLYMPUS IIS server then create mailboxes in my Exchange server(RIVENDELL) to
give me email addresses like (E-Mail Removed) etc. Add users to my
Domain Controller (ATLANTIS) and give them permissions for Web, FTP &
Exchange mail. How can I do this and repeat the process if I wish to host
several virtual domains linked to registered domain names.

What do I need to do in the DNS zones for the other domains I register?

How do I configure Exchange to create different mail addresses for the other
domains I register?

It is all quite daunting and I really just need someone to walk me through
it as it is getting frustrating trying to understand all the different
literatures out there, when I can ask an expert and have it explained.

I hope someone out there will tackle my problem and help me out with the
solutions as I will be greatly appreciative.

Ok, First DNS. Remember there is a difference between Internet DNS and
Internal/local DNS. You will need to update/create the MX DNS entires on the
Internet DNS Servers listed as the Domain's registered Name Servers.
(i.e.as found at:
http://www.networksolutions.com/en_U...YJXWCWLEAMCFFA)
These may not be Your DNS Servers (and by your question I assume such). The
World needs to be able to access the MX records for your Domains. Usually
these DNS servers belong to your ISP or wherever you registered your domain.
They will have to make the entries for you. Also remember to ask your ISP to
setup a Reverse IP pointer to your Server's Fixed IP, so that other mail
servers can verify your Server, some mail servers will not talk to another
mail server if it fails reverse lookup. (if you do not have a Fixed IP then
you will not be able to recieve mail from the outside world and you don't
need to read any of this).

Once the DNS is setup and the world can find your Exchange/IIS Server you
can setup as many email Domains as you wish. Just have the DNS MX record for
each Domain point to your Exchange Server's Fixed IP and an A record for
"www" pointing to your IIS Server's Fixed IP. You may also need a seperate
IP for each "www" you want to host, if you wish to keep each one seperate,
or have all "www" point to the one IP. ???

On Your Exchange Server all you have to do is go to the Default Recipients
Policy and add the Domain names to the E-mail Addresses tab. Oh yea, and
Check the box "This Exchange Organization is responsible for all mail
delivery to this address".

On a another point you do not mention a Firewall, it would be a good idea if
you're going to Host External Web Sites and Mail. Also I hope you have Good
Virus Software, as once you post your external IP on a Public DNS hackers,
spammers and Viruses are going to know where you are and start probing.
