am running XP Professional and the following message
appears

1780 IDE PRIMARY CHANNEL MASTER DRIVE ERROR
1780 IDE PRIMARY CHANNEL MASTER DRIVE CHANGED
0162 EQUIPMENT CONFIGURATION ERROR

PRESS F1 TO ENTER SETUP OR ENTER TO CONTINUE

I press enter and the following message appears

INSERT SYSTEM DISKETTE AND PRESS ENTER KEY TO REBOOT

Ian, this appears to be a configuration problem with your system BIOS. You
will need to contact the manufacturer of your motherboard or computer system
(e.g. Compaq) to receive support on this issue.
