I have got a range of cells 'lets as A1 to F6' all with text in them. I know
it is possible to highlight cells based on the text that they have in them,
however i only what it to highlight the text when another cell 'g2' is
greater than a certain number eg '2'. Is it possible to do this?

Thanks in advance.
Craig

Select the range A1:F6
Use the following formula in Conditional Formatting
=$G$2>2

This will highlight the whole range...

If you just want to highlight the corresponding row based on the value in G
use
=$G1>2

$G1 will change to $G2 for row 2 and so on

Hi,

To make the solution a little more flexible, enter the trigger value in cell
G1 for example and then

In 2003:
1. Select the cells you want to format
2. Choose Format, Conditional Formatting
3. Choose Formula is from the first drop down
4. In the second box enter the formula:
=$G$2>$G$1
5. Click the Format button
6. Choose a color on the Patterns tab (or any available option)
7. Click OK twice.

In 2007:
1. Highlight all the cells on the rows you want formatted
2. Choose Home, Conditional Formatting, New Rule
3. Choose Use a formula to determine which cell to format
4. In the Format values where this formula is true enter the following
formula:
=$G$2>$G$1
5. Click the Format button and choose a format.
6. Click OK twice

If this helps, please click the Yes button.
