Does anyone know if Vista can support concurrent sessions? I see a service
called "Secondary Logon", will this allow for the concurrent sessions? If
not, could someone clarify what that service is for?

If you're asking about remote concurrent logons, that is through
Remote Desktop, then no. If you're asking about local, console
based concurrent logons, then the answer is yes. Just Switch
User.

Hey Paul -

Thanks for the response and yes, I was talking remotely (sorry, should have
specified). Do you know if this might be addressed in future, perhaps a SP?
This is a feature that I have seen requested time and time again. If MS
chooses not to address it, do you have any insight in why MS is ignoring the
great number of requests for it?

The server version of Windows allows this.

If you want a terminal server, you have to use a server OS, and pay more for
it.

Because Microsoft considers this to be a server feature and not
a desktop feature.

Well, might it not be an idea for Microsoft to make a little extra cash and
offer it as an Add-on? The technology is obviously there. I really
appreciated the Beta termsrv.dll in MCE 2005 that allowed this and works
really well.. Would be a win-win situation. Happy customers Happy Microsoft.
I am am MICRO business. I have 1 pc at home - 2 in my shop. No way I cun
justify running a server edition! May take me a while before I change the
shop pc's to Vista ones.

I have addressed this on your similar post "Just Curious".
That feature will not be added to the desktop OS.

Yes, I saw your response in the other thread. I apologise for the
similarity, but I wrote the other posting after this one. In this one, I
only mentioned the concurrent sessions, but in the other I wanted to point
out the top three requests that I had seen, of which concurrent sessions
fell into. It's a shame that it won't be added, but at the same time, I can
understand why.

Thanks again to all for your responses
