no matter what i do to turn the computer on (safe mode, last known correct
config.) the computer appears to start as normal. After about 2-3 minutes i
see a message informing me that the computer will shut off in 59 seconds
based on the DCOM Server Process Launcher?. The bottom of the message
indicated that this is authorized by the NT Authority/System? Dont know what
either is. Can't find them.

This is a newsgroup for Microsoft's ".NET" (dotnet) programming community.
You should try your question in a newsgroup that is about Windows (it will
have "Windows" in its name).

Ironically, sisangel did post to microsoft.public.windowsxp.general 18
minutes before multiposting to here. There is an answer waiting for
them over there.

To sisangel, multiposting is when you post the same message separately
to several groups, and is frowned upon. Crossposting is fine, and is
listing multiple groups in one post. Most services allow for this. See
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multiposting
