Computer won't require password on wakeup

I'm running a Vista machine that I've only had about three weeks; I'm the only profile on it other than Guest. Until now, it "required a password on wakup" just as the option says, however, it does not do so anymore. When the computer wakes up, the profile picture reads "Locked", but clicking on it logs straight back into my account without any authorization.

The weird thing is that, as far as I can tell, the "require password on wakup" option is checked... I have gone in and tried to re-check it multiple times now, and nothing changes.

I had a new video card installed about the same time as this problem began to occur, so the two may be linked, although I don't know how.

Any help is much appreciated.
