Were these CDs created on your current
computer / operating system or an earlier
one?

Were these pictures shot by a pro or you?
If a pro shot them perhaps he has put some form of copy protection on
the files to prevent anyone but him making prints or copies!

I was having the same problem until I rightclicked the cd in "my computer"
and clicked "make compatable". I am not saying you should do that, but am
just telling what I did. Good luck
