Hello, I recently built a computer for school. It was running Windows XP Pro
for the last 3 or 4 months with no problems. I'd leave the computer on all
the time, but every now and then when I would come back to it, it would be
powered off. I however would never turn it off and the power light on the
front would be on while everything else, monitor, fans, harddrive, and cdrom
would all be off. When this happened I'd just unplug the power supply till
the power light on the front would turn off then i'd plug it back in and the
computer would power right up when I hit the power button. However, the last
time I came back to my computer and pressed the button, nothing happend. I
repeatedly disconnected the power supply for hours at a time and tried to
plug it back in but no luck. I'm wondering if this is most likely a power
supply issue or a motherboard issue. the computer is no more then 5 months
old at absolute max, so I don't know what to expect the problem to be. I've
tried turning it on with everything except the cpu/fan/video card taken out
and still no luck. any suggestions?

Take the PSU to your local PC store and have them check it.
