Computer won't hibernate

When my hard drive failed, the boot partition was not recoverable. So I
created a new one on the new drive. However, this partition is unable
to hibernate. Just as the progress meter on the Hibernation shutdown
screen reachs 100%, I get a BSOD.

Any suggestions?

If you have more than 1GB of RAM, there is a MS hotfix that
you need to make hibernation work properly.

Is there a log file that would list it? Problem with BSODs is that you
need to use a Mark 1 pencil to record that.

Exactly 1GB. Previous partitions on the same machine hibernated
successfully.
