Hi everyone. About 2 months ago I upgraded to windows XP
Home, and have had very few problems. This past week I
started playing Baldur's Gate 2 (A game thats not too
demanding of the system) again, and I have been
experiencing a problem. My computer will just randomly
restart itself, almost as if the power had blinked out
for a second (it didn't). I doubt that it is the game,
because I used to play it all the time, even on XP, and
it ran fine. I think the only reason I notice is because
its all I have been playing this week. Well, anyway, the
restarts are in no way predictable, they dont happen at
any certain point of the game, they can occur anywhere
from just as I double click the icon, to in the middle of
a game. I repeat, I really dont think its a problem with
the game, since it doesnt just crash the game, the whole
computer restarts. The game runs very smoothly for the
time that it is running, but every so often the whole
system just restarts. I dont know if this is a problem
with the game, my computer, Windows XP, or if I have a
virus. If this sounds like a virus that anyone has heard
of, let me know. The only reason I bring this problem
here first is because I know that the people in this
group are always very helpful. Thank you for you help.

Hi! well you should go to google and search for spybot
software and download that and then go to www.f-prot.com
and download that so it will search for any viruses and
disinfect them ok? try that my friend! if it doesnt work

If you haven't already done so, make sure you download
all updates and patches to baldurs gate. If you are only
crashing when playing this game, that is most likely the
problem.

Basically if it's only crashing in THAT game then it's probably a problem with the game. If it
crashes in other games or elsewhere when you are using the system, it's probably a problem with
hardware, I'm guessing.
