Hi

My Computer turns itself off frequently giving the following messages in the
Event Viewer

Event ID: 7026
The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load:
PCIIde

Event ID: 7000
The BDRSDRV service failed to start due to the following error:
The system cannot find the path specified.

This usually occurs when my son is either:
Playing games
Using messenger
On MySpace

It does not occur during normal surfing or other use.

My Computer is Windows Home SP2

Any ideas on how to rectify this.

Erik

Try:http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sup..._advanced.aspx
Type in youre event ids and info for results.Sounds like a hardware problem
though,with PCIIde.Overheating/lack of power/or the board itself..You can
usually unplug all from the pc,take to a good pc repair shop, they can/could
run
some tests while you wait (no charge)..

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=BDRSDRV+service. It could be an effect
of malware, or maybe not. I suggest you start with a thorough scan for
malware.

It may simply be an overheating problem. What are the temps of your cpu
and case when this happens?
