..IE:computer is real quirky and on boot up I see
the following lines

1 "hardware monitor found an error"and I have to hit F1 key to
continues to boot.and refers me to bios to find problem which I cant
find .????

2 - "error cant write to ESCD "

When booting the computer freezes at 1 and have to hit F1 to continue
to boot .

When booted , cd and flippy drives have trouble reading disks and some
programs dont seem to want to work.In windows explorer I cant read or

Both problems are BIOS problems and not related to Windows. The ESCD is
an area of memory (in the BIOS) that stores PnP information and is
accessed by both Windows and the BIOS at every boot.

You will need to consult your user's manual of the motherboard, or the
motherboard manufacturer's web site.

You might consider a new battery (if the MoBo is old) or you might need to
flash the BIOS.

Good luck,
