Hi, I have windows 2000 with a 512mg computer. The problem
is that it powers itself up by itself from the off mode. I
have it plugged into a power strip and have changed it
twice. It still powers up without being prompted.

Any clues why this is happening and how I can make it stop
automatically coming on?

Thanks...Des-

Take a look in the BIOS to see whats set to start the PC.

turn off the wake-on-lan settings for the network adapter.

Hi;
Like the other fellows partially mentioned "power on
settings"
On the BIOS choices differ but usually; power on lan
(network activity), Power on modem (phone ringing),
power on keyboard (any key), and even power on schedule
set time, (some Dell models).
