After installing SP4 on a Win 2K Pro machine it started to
hang up. Tried reverting back to SP 3. Still had the
problem, acually got worse. Reformatted the drive NTFS and
SP 3 installed. System still hangs. Appears to be the
mouse causing the hang or at least it seems to be the
problem. I've trid several mice from several manufacturers
including MS but to no avail. This is a multi-user system
in an office and it is really a problem. Any ideas? I've
done or tried everthing i can think of. Please email any
ideas to me as i do not have access to the news group on a
regular basis. ANY help would be nice. Out of ideas and
frustrated as all get out. Not to mention the constant
complaints from the users.

Thank to all.

Dave

It *may* be bad video drivers. The mouse has to interact with the video
drivers to display properly.

My problems also started happening after installing SP4.
Windows would work for some time and then mouse would
hang. On top of that display got garbled (due to bad viseo
card) - which after replacing fails to boot even in safe
mode. See my post on "Stop error code B4"

Someone please help!

thanks,
sandeep
