Computer slow after hibernation

My PC is a Compaq Presario 6000, operating on Windows XP with Norton Anti
Virus 2005 running, using Netscape for a browser.
When I wake my computer from hibernation in the morning it takes as much as
3 minutes for the browser to come on line. I t does not take that long when
waking the computer from shorter periods of sleep. Why the difference?
