I've had it happen on various laptops over the years, and responded to many
posts about it. I don't remember the issue being anything but overheating of
the CPU.
if it's propped up, make it higher... blow on it with a fan... take it
outdoors if the night is cool... etc.
I'll change the affinity of a laptop too if it's a dual core one, so it's
rendering with just one of the two.
