My computer will sometimes just lock up at random
intervals (mouse cursor stops responding and
cntrl+ALT+Del do nothing, I have to hold the power button
in and physically shut it off and reboot) I have checked
all my drivers and all are up to date, I have run
scandisk, defrag, antiviruses, and system scans (using
Vcom System Suite 5) yet it still keeps happening. It'll
also occur while playing games (Deus Ex running newest
patch and version of Direct X)

My System specs are:

Athlon XP 1.2ghz
512MB DDR Ram
ATI Radeon 9000 Pro 128MB
ABIT moterboard with VIA Chipset integrated Sound, LAN
and USB ports.

How long have you let it be hung up?? 1min? 5min? After 15min I'd get
worried. It happens to me too once in a while....

System is: (HW) ASUS A7V133-C m/b (BIOS 1009), Athlon (T-bird) 1.2 GHz(FSB
100MHz), 384MB (SDRAM @133MHZ), 40+16GB HDs(primary IDE), DVD and CD-RW(sec.
IDE), GF2MX (32MB), Creative SB Live!Value, D-Link NetNic(DRN-32TX),250W
power supply (I know, I know, too puny), Motorola SurfBoard SB4100E cable
modem.
OS=WinXPpro_fi, all updates (incl. IE/OE6SP1 & all updates)

Possibly a memory problem. Download memtest86
from http://www.memtest86.com/ and run it for a few
passes. You should get zero errors.
