Computer Resets

I recently had to reinstall my Win2k and applied SP4 along
with all the available updates. I then began installing
the programs I needed to reinstall like Office 2000,
Acrobat 6.0, etc. Periodically (at least one time a day),
my computer will go to the "blue screen of death" with
a "memory management" error or IRQ error. I am running a
600MHz machine with 196 MB RAM. What could be causing the
problem? I know I should upgrade the RAM but will that
solve the problem of the system rebooting?
