Not sure if this is the correct spot to ask: I use Outlook Express, but also
have Outlook on my computer(never used). When I reboot, it defaults to
Outlook. I have to go into Program Files and use the OE exe file to switch
backto OE.
Is there a way to fix this?

Open Internet Explorer

Tools | Internet Options | Programs

Make OE your default email client.

Occasionally, after Windows Update - if there is an Outlook update -
you may have to reset this.

Happy,

In addition to what PD43 advised, in OE select the Tools menu, then Options. At the bottom under Default Messaging Programs make sure OE is the default Mail handler.

Why it happens:

Microsoft Outlook updates change the default mail handler to Microsoft
Outlook

Related: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/933450

Fix it:

1. http://www.oehelp.com/oedef.aspx; then...

2a. http://www.oehelp.com/oelnk.aspx

2b. (WinXP) [Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs >] Set Program Access and
Defaults > Email > ...

If still no joy, see:
