I unplugged the phone line from the modem on saturday and
the computer did not power on by itself at all, I then
plugged the phone line back in on Sunday and it powered
itself on a couple of times. the computer powers on and
the 2 programs I mentioned are the only ones running.
There is no internet connection but somehow the phone line
being plugged in has something to do with it. I am never
in the room when it actually powers on, so I dont know if
it connects to the internet and then disconnects itself.
One thing I forgot to mention is that I was infected by
the blaster worm in august. I removed it using the tools
from Symantecs website and I downloaded the patch from
Microsofts website. this is the only virus/worm I have
gotten. does anyone know if this could have something to
do with it?
