I just bought a new computer and wanted to transfer some of my old stuff to
my new one. but when i put it on the network, i could see my other computers
on the network, but the original one i couldn't access, it said it had a
password or something. My brother remembers having a password somewhere, but
can't find it now. Does it have to do with the fact that i just made the
network wireless now?How do I change the password or take it off completely?

It does not matter whether your network is wired or wireless. Here are

What version of Windows does the old computer run?

What is the complete and exact text of the password message that you
see?

How are you trying to access the old computer? What exactly are you
clicking? Is it the computer name, a shared disk, a shared folder?

With that information, I'm sure that someone can help.

The original computer runs on XP (home edition, im guessing). I am clicking
on 'My Network Places', then view workgroup computers. Then the 3 computers I
have are there, and I can access the new one and another one, but when I
click on the original computer, a window pops up saying, (*NAME*= the network
name of that computer)

'\\*NAME* is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this
network resource. contact the administrator of this server to find out if you
have access permissions.

Access is denied.'

So i guess it was about a password or something, either way I have no way to
change it so all computers have permision to access the shared files, because
the shared folders from that computer do not apear in 'my network places',
but on that computer, the other computer's shared folders DO! what a mess!

Anyone know what to do?

Thanks for those details. Run the Network Setup Wizard on the
original computer -- that's often all that's needed to solve the
problem.

If that doesn't solve the problem, please post a news group reply with
full details of what happens.
