I am trying to streamline the registered name, computer name user name all to
be the same. I use XP home SP2 just 1 computer browsing the web, nothing to
complicated. The old owner title name I previously used as the computer title
is still on my system in a few areas such as linked to folders and system
logs.

How can I have my previous XP owner/title user name completely changed to a
new one?

Thanks

By user name do you mean the name on the user account? The only way to
change that so the folder names reflect the user name is to create a new
account with the name you want. You can then copy the data and settings
from the old account to the new, and if things are running ok then delete
the new account.

If this is a used computer obtained from someone else, I recommend doing a
clean install of the OS and applications. That way you can set the names as
you want, and in addition you don't inherit the operational problems,
quirks, and nasties such as child porn.
