After loading HP Top Tools 5.2, the computer management
console no longer shows any options under system tools.

Event Viewer
Device manager
Local Users and Groups
Shared Folders
Performance Logs and Alters

Are all missing.

I have checked the compmgmt.msc file and it is correct,
by using the MMC, i verified that the optiosn above are
still listed in the msc file.

I assume there are registry entries associated with the
required options, however, after merging a complete MMC
hive from another win2k server, copying the compmgmt.msc
file from the other server, the options are stll not
displayed.

Does any one know the registery keys required to get the
options o display again?

This is not a permissions related issue, as the controls
will individually work, and will work if added to a new
msc file.

Any clues???

Regards
Rod

The rest of the management console appears normally.

Hello

They are just shortcuts, someone might have deleted them. Just recreate
these shortcuts
in that folder.

%SystemRoot%\system32\compmgmt.msc /s
%SystemRoot%\system32\odbcad32.exe
%SystemRoot%\system32\eventvwr.msc /s
%SystemRoot%\system32\secpol.msc /s
%SystemRoot%\system32\perfmon.msc /s
%SystemRoot%\system32\services.msc /s
%SystemRoot%\system32\tlntadmn.exe
